In this piece, two logics of making converge.
The modular frame forms a grid of mill-finish extruded aluminum
profiles assembled through standardized joints. Its construction
reinterprets the basic logic of the aluminum systems used for fair
booths.

Through it move irregular strands, bent by hand and shaped by the
contingencies of manual production, like stubborn lianas that refuse the straight logic of the frame.

They weave through it tactically, leaning on certain points while
escaping others, interrupting the certainty of the grid.

Over time the two conditions begin to depend on each other. The
structure gives the lianas something to climb, while the lianas reshapethe structure itself.

Neither can be removed without undoing the other

“By calling upon the wisdom of the movement of lianas, I do
nothing more than follow a very ancient trace: to recount, in
the form of a fable, the lessons of the thousand ruses of life.”
