Built on the site of the old family home in Karapınar, this single-story house draws on the tradition of Gaziantep courtyard houses, where life is organized around open, shared spaces. Designed in collaboration, it accommodates two generations under one roof while remaining open to the extended family. The dam, – the wide terrace at the center of village life, informs the orientation of its openings, turning the house outward to the garden, trees, and abundant light.
Traces of the former dwelling and its rooted landscape were preserved.

In the wake of the 2023 earthquake, the unfinished house served as a refuge for family and neighbors. From then on, completion took the form of ad-hoc adjustments and the accommodation of different needs.
